Rule Book
Power Play Football is a fantasy football game in which you draft, make trades with other league GMs, acquire free agents, submit lineups and guide your team throughout a full season of head-to-head games against other owners in your league based upon the weekly performance of NFL players.
. Power Play Fantasy Sports uses a wide variety of statistics and weekly averages with certain qualifiers in addition to the usual stats to calculate a player's total contribution, whether it is positive or negative to your game. If you like a well balanced and in depth statistical scoring system and are bored with newspaper pools or national contests where every owner can have the same super star with a slim chance to win a prize and only a computer to trade with, then Power Play Fantasy Sports is the answer.
All league fees & roster transactions are included in one price.
Power Play Football leagues consist of 10 teams divided into two 5-team divisions. The regular season is fourteen weeks long with a two week week playoff format of two division winners and two wild-card teams with the best records in the league, regardless of division. This makes the regular season mean more than just a formality and still allows a 40% participation in the playoffs. A 16 week season eliminates the dreaded week 17 of the regular season with partial play or no shows by playoff teams.
4th and Inches
If a close reflection of a player's contribution to a game plus a well balanced and in depth statistical scoring system sounds appealing, then Power Play Fantasy Football is for you. We like to give a player credit for being in the game with certain qualifications in some categories. It is frustrating to have a player gain 99 yards and have no score because of the lack of 1 yard. Our averages are calculated to show a player's total contribution to a game, whether it is positive or negative.
Draft by Mail
Paper drafting is easy, without the very expensive cost of phone drafts or the time consumption and commitment of a live draft. The draft sheet is self explanitory and does have an element of strategy. The draft sheets can be returned by postal mail, e-mail or faxed. Return your draft list as soon as possible to have your team in place and be able to make pre-season rosters moves if necessary. You can join a league by yourself and we will place you in a league with 9 other teams. You may also join with friends and be in the same league. If you join as a full league you can use our draft sheet or hold your own draft and send in your team rosters. Full leagues can be from 10 to 30 teams with your own roster limits and scoring system.
Dynasty Leagues
Dynasty leagues are the more challenging and skillful type of fantasy leagues. You may keep as many roster players as you like from the previous season. The intriguing part takes place in the opening draft when the owner has to choose between talented veterans and rookies to build a team to win now and for the future as well. The challenging aspect occurs when you need to upgrade your team each year through the rookie/free agent draft and trades.

Weekly Reports
Rosters
Rosters consist of 20 players and 4 teams:
A 24 player/team roster allows for injuries, bye
weeks and to make hunch or sleeper picks for the future, as our leagues
are perennial leagues which you may keep year after year. You do not have
to cut players at the end of the season, but you will have to drop a
player for each player picked in the next season's draft.
Lineups
Lineups are due before the kickoff of the first game (usually Sunday at 1 PM EST). Lineups for Thursday and Saturday games must be submitted by game time for the starting players and teams participating in these games. Any players or teams not listed are ruled ineligible for the week. The remaining players & teams are entered as usual. If not received by this time, your lineup from the previous week will be used. No exceptions to this rule. Lineups may be submitted via email, voice mail or faxed. You must list your league name, team name and week number on all lineups. Power Play uses flexible lineups to allow designated backup players. This is for teams to enter their best lineups without the worry of replacing a player too early or having a no show player because of injury. Any teams that do not have enough players to field a starting lineup because of a bye week may pick up replacement players for that week. Requests for bye week replacement players must be designated as replacement players. Teams do not have to drop any players to pick up bye week replacement players. These players are automatically dropped after that week's games and are listed as available free agents.
Injured Reserve
Any player that becomes injured and cannot play is eligible to be put on the injured reserve list. This will open a roster spot on a team's active roster which can filled with a player of the same position. Each week a health and injury report will be released on Thursday. (Wednesday for weeks with Thursday football games). A player must be taken off the injured reserve list and returned to the active roster in the following week that an injured player returns to action. A player must be released to make room for this roster change to be within roster limits. This can be any player at that position including the player returning from the injured reserve list. If a player is not released the player pick up to take the injured player's active roster spot will be released to the free agent list.
League Fees
Free Agents
Free Agent pickups for previously undrafted players and players released the previous week are done by one choice per team from bottom team to top team until each team has a choice or pass and then repeated in the same format until all pick ups are distributed. Players released during the current week will be available as free agents the next week. All requests must include a player to be released. If a released player is not included, the request will be denied. The only exceptions are for bye week replacement players. Free agent picks are submitted until 6:00 PM Eastern Time on Friday (11:00 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday when there is a Thursday game). Free agent pick ups are released the next day and are available for the current week.
